Back to basics

Feng Shui - what is it?

Feng Shui is not a religion, an art or intuitive.

It is a science which is thousands of years old. It is an Ancient Eastern Science also known as the Chinese art of placement. Feng Shui when translated literally means wind and water, and when it is translated again to the western way and the Australian lifestyle it means harmony and balance. It is creating that feel good atmosphere when you and others enter your home, office or business.

The basis of Feng Shui was derived from centuries of observation. This knowledge was based on cause and effect, when a situation was out of balance it could be corrected.

Feng Shui can be applied to any environment – from your home, your car, your office, your desk, your wallet, your keys, your caravan, your shed/garage, your block of land and your garden.

There is not anywhere Feng Shui cannot be applied. Feng Shui can be applied to any space and time.

One of the main factors in Feng Shui is to live in harmony with your environment so that your environment works for you instead of against you. Feng Shui is all about the way you interact with your environment. Feng Shui is about creating the right environment for you which in turn influences your attitude. You create your environment and your environment reflects your attitude. With the right attitude and environment you will:

  • attract abundance and prosperity
  • harmonious and influential relationships
  • improve your creativity
  • attract the right mentors
  • have a healthy lifestyle
  • improve your career/business opportunities
  • continual learning and knowledge
  • overall balance and harmony in your life

In western society we have not had the benefit of growing up with the Ancient Feng Shui principles, so when people discover Feng Shui they realise that many aspects of it are common sense and they have been applying many principles of Feng Shui without realising it.

Feng Shui is a way for us to reconnect and regain our balance, our health and our good fortune.

The Bagua Map became an important tool in the Taoist method of Feng Shui recommending placement for those people unfortunate enough to live and work in harsh and uncompromising environments, or beset by other unexplained problems. In Ancient China, when other methods of Feng Shui were used and you were found to be living in the wrong place, according to that form of Feng Shui, you would move to a better location.

In today’s society, especially in Western Society it is not always practical or suitable to move your home or business to a new location – this is where the Bagua Map is crucial is curing any ailments the property may have to improve the harmony and balance.

The Bagua Method is used widely in Western Society and it is easy to understand and apply. It can be applied to your land, home, individual rooms, car, desk, business, desk and even your fridge. The Bagua Method, when applied to any dwelling, area or situation, you will ultimately achieve peace, harmony and abundance.
